A friend at work saw this cool concrete ‘low-poly’ phone stand design, so when he was leaving the company I figured I’d model one up and 3D print one for him to take home. I measured the dimensions of an iPhone charge cable so I knew how much space I needed to leave for it to fit at the base. I started with a large cube and cut out the shapes and angles I wanted, then I went in and created a groove for the charge cable to slip in underneath. It printed just fine in a transparent red PLA at 10% infill. What was cool with this type of PLA, was when held to a light, you could see the honeycomb infill, which looks quite nice.
